Circle skirt builder

Step 1 · Measurements

Enter the waist, length, and cutting plan

Values are centimetres. The waist is the body line where the finished skirt will sit; the generator adds the selected wearing ease before calculating the radius.

Choose a circular starting point

Presets set total fullness and a practical panel count. They do not change your waist or length.

Measure at the exact line where the waistband will sit.

Usually 0.5–2 cm for a fitted non-elastic waistband.

The paper length is checked before the fabric hangs on the bias.

Exclude selvedges and unusable printed margins.

Sector and allowances

The angle per panel must not exceed 180°. More panels can fit narrower fabric.

How these inputs affect this pattern

Use the notes below to understand which measurements shape the draft, which options change construction, and what should be measured again when values conflict. Presets are starting points; the submitted values drive the result.

Quarter circle

The calmest flare needs the largest radius

A 90° total sector carries the entire waist, so the inner radius is large and the hem grows moderately. It is closer to an A-line direction but still uses circular geometry without darts.

Half circle

Balanced movement and manageable volume

A 180° finished sector gives more sweep than a quarter circle without the fabric demand of a full circle. Two 90° panels provide balanced side seams and practical cutting.

Full circle

Maximum sweep uses the smallest radius

The full 360° waist sits on a complete circle. Four 90° panels keep each printable piece manageable and distribute seams evenly around the garment.
