Choose a basic dress preset and enter the body measurements used to draft the front and back pieces.
Patterns generated by Nastix Patterns are base drafts created from your measurements and selected settings.
We strongly recommend making a test version (muslin / toile) and checking the fit before cutting final fabric.
Different fabrics, body shapes, armhole choices, and sewing preferences may require manual fitting adjustments.
Measure horizontally around the fullest part of the bust. Keep the tape level and do not pull it tight.
Use the natural waist or the waistline where the dress should sit. Do not add seam allowance manually.
Measure around the fullest part of the hips and seat. This value is especially important for straight or narrow silhouettes.
Measure front and back length from the high shoulder point near the neck to the waist. Skirt length runs from waist to desired hem.
Measure shoulder from the neck base to the shoulder point. Armhole depth affects sleeve fit and movement.
Measure bust point distance horizontally between the fullest points. Measure bust point height from the high shoulder point near the neck.
Ease controls fit comfort, hem change narrows or widens the silhouette, and armhole style should match the plan: sleeve or sleeveless.
Before generating
Use the notes below to understand which measurements shape the draft, which options change construction, and what should be measured again when values conflict. Presets are starting points; the submitted values drive the result.
The pattern contains front and back half-patterns cut on the fold, bodice and skirt waist darts, a front side-bust dart, neckline and armhole curves, waist and hip guides, grainlines, notches, allowances, and a 5 × 5 cm test square.
Bust, waist, hips, and ease define horizontal fit. Separate front and back lengths establish vertical balance, while shoulder, armhole, bust-point measurements, and skirt length position the upper body, darts, waist, and hem.
Front bust-point measurements place the waist and side-bust darts. Matching upper and lower dart widths create a continuous waist transition, while soft, regular, or strong shaping changes how closely the dress follows the body.
