Belt loop pattern guide
The generator turns finished loop width, waistband depth, fold allowances, end allowances, and quantity into repeatable belt loop pieces. Use these notes to keep the loop tall enough for the belt while still matching the waistband stitching positions.
The export includes the cut outline, side fold lines, top and bottom stitch guides, end allowances, quantity label, measurement labels, and a 5 × 5 cm test square for print checking.
Finished width controls how wide the belt loop appears after folding. Finished length should be based on the waistband width plus the room needed for the belt and the chosen attachment method.
Use the actual finished waistband width, not only the body waist measurement. A loop for a narrow skirt waistband should be shorter than a loop for a deeper trouser waistband or a heavier belt.
Common garments use five to seven loops, but the right count depends on waist size, pocket placement, side seams, center back, and closure position. Mark placement on the garment before stitching.
Check the folded loop with the intended fabric and belt width. Heavy fabric may need narrower side turns, more pressing control, or a slightly longer finished loop.
Print at actual size or 100% with scaling disabled and measure the test square first. Use tiled A4 at home, copyshop PDF for a full-size sheet, or SVG for vector editing.
Who, how, and when
This generator is maintained as application code: measurements are converted into vector geometry, related seams are measured numerically where the construction requires it, and the same geometry is used for preview, SVG, copyshop PDF, and tiled A4 PDF.

Not exactly. Use the finished waistband width as the base, then allow enough extra room for the belt thickness, fabric bulk, and the way the loop ends will be stitched down.
Five loops are common for many skirts and trousers, while larger waists or heavier belts may need six or seven. Plan loop placement around side seams, center back, pockets, and closures before cutting.
