Before generating
Use the notes below to understand which measurements shape the draft, which options change construction, and what should be measured again when values conflict. Presets are starting points; the submitted values drive the result.
A larger inset moves the upper endpoint toward center front and makes the opening more horizontal. Keep it clear of fly extensions, front pleats, darts, belt-loop positions, and waistband closures. Measure on the waist stitching line, not the outer cut edge.
A deeper endpoint lengthens and steepens the opening but may cross the fullest hip or interfere with the side seam. Pin the two endpoints on a toile and slide a hand in while standing and sitting before finalizing the cut.
A curved jeans-style opening bows into the garment and becomes slightly longer than the chord between endpoints. The generator calculates that curve consistently on the guide and front bag. Set curve depth to zero for a true straight slash.
